What We Believe
What We Believe
We believe that God is the Creator of the universe and all that is in it. God created us in His image, meaning we are spiritual beings. God, being the creator, is worthy of our worship. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-present, eternal, and just, yet merciful and loving. He is one God, yet three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Bible is God's Word, given to us through men inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is therefore our only authority in matters of faith and doctrine (teachings).
We believe that all have sinned against God (Romans 3:23) and that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). We cannot be good enough to enter heaven on our own (Titus 3:5).
We believe that Jesus is God's only Son. He is God in the flesh (John 1). Jesus paid the price for our sin through His sacrificial death on the cross. Jesus then rose from the grave on the third day triumphing over death and giving us the hope and promise of eternal life. This is the gift of God (Romans 6:23). This gift is available to all who are willing to accept it through faith.
We believe that through faith we accept God's gift by turning away from our sins (Luke 13:5), acknowledging Christ as Savior before men in both words and actions (Matthew 10:32), by being baptized by immersion into Christ (Act 2:38, Romans 6), and by being obedient to God (Romans 1:5)
We believe that when we have accepted God’s gift we receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38), God’s presence living in us. He enables us to walk as Christ did, to be imitators of God as dearly loved children, and to exhibit love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control in a way we could not naturally (Galatians 5:22-23). We are not perfect but are in the process of being transformed into His likeness by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2).
We believe we have been saved to do good works which God has prepared for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)
At Brooksville Christian Church, we encourage individuals of all ages and backgrounds to bring the Lord Almighty into their lives at every moment - moments of joy, moments of despair, and even those moments in between. We are committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and are here to spread His message with loving patience and kindness.
